Today, 600 million women and girls live in conflict-affected areas, with 20% developing long-term mental health conditions, but only 2% receive care. In Afghanistan, women’s autonomy has been erased, worsening their mental health while stigma silences them. In Gaza, 75% of women report regular depression amid bombings and displacement, yet they must cope alone. In Ukraine and Georgia, displacement has fueled Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression, but barriers like cost and stigma prevent many from seeking help. Despite the immense need, mental health remains underfunded, leaving countless women without support.
