The Advocates Analyzes Turkmenistan's Penal Legislation

In partnership with Progres Foundation and for Turkmenistan's upcoming CEDAW review, The Advocates analyzed Turkmenistan's Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, and Administrative Code and made recommendations to strengthen the law and enhance victim safety and offender accountability.

Russia and Colombia: Reports to the Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights

The Advocates submitted two Suggested Lists of Issues to the Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights providing information on gender-based violence against women in Russia and Colombia.

The Advocates Documents War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity in Ukraine

It has been a year since Russia invaded Ukraine and its war against the Ukrainian people continues. From the beginning, Russia's aggression violated international humanitarian law and human rights standards. We set out to document war crimes. Now we are doing so much more. Since the war in Ukraine began, The Advocates documented war crimes, crimes against humanity, and human rights abuses committed by Russian forces.

The Advocates' Report on the Backlash to the Istanbul Convention

The Advocates undertook fact-finding to investigate the anti-gender, far-right movement that is resulting in rollbacks to human rights around the world. Among these rollbacks is the backlash against the Istanbul Convention, or the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence.
