Global: International Women’s Day 2025 calls for empowerment, equality, and rights

UN Women has chosen “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” as the theme for the 2025 International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8. This year’s theme highlights the vital role of young women and girls as key agents of change while also marking the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the most influential blueprint for women’s rights worldwide. Building on the Beijing Declaration, International Women’s Day 2025 will focus on the advancement of women’s rights, gender equality, and empowerment—especially with only five years remaining to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals.
