The 60th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) concluded on March 24, 2016, after committing to women’s equal participation in global development efforts, specifically the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The CSW produced twenty-four specific conclusions relating to the “strengthening of normative, legal, and policy frameworks” that advance women’s rights and equality around the world. By issuing these conclusions and recommendations, the CSW hopes to create an effective and clear plan for promoting the rights of all women and girls to equality and a life free from violence.
