UK: Prioritizing victims in the fight against Violence Against Women
Tuesday, February 25, 2025 4:40 AM

There is an urgent need for the UK to center victims and survivors in its response to violence against women. Despite growing awareness, systemic failures continue to leave many without adequate protection and support. There is the need for a survivor-led approach, ensuring policies and resources are shaped by those directly affected. Institutions should have a central role, urging the government, police, and justice system to take meaningful action rather than just rhetorical commitments. Addressing gender-based violence requires sustained efforts that go beyond punishment and focus on prevention, protection, and survivor support.
