Tajikistan The Bureau of Human Rights and Rule of Law was founded in April 2000. Its members are practicing lawyers, professors and law students. A total of 15 people are working at the Office. The NGO has its field office in the city of Hudzhand in northern Tajikistan. As the mandate of the Bureau on Human Rights and Rule of Law is human rights protection, the issues of women’s rights protection are part of the mission of the organization.
Participation in the National VAW Monitor Program will strengthen the potential of the Bureau, create important contact among NGOs in Tajikistan, and assist the organization in carrying out its activities. The Bureau looks forward to learning about the successful mechanisms of protection and promotion of women’s rights highlighted by the Program with a view toward implementing such mechanisms in Tajikistan.
