New Report: Violence Against Women Costs 228 Billion Euros Annually

A Legislative Initiative Report presented to the European Parliament’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality estimates that violence against women costs Europe 228 billion euros annually. The report makes several requests for legislative change. Specifically, the report calls for a Europe-wide action plan and strategy to combat violence agianst women, encourages nations to ratify the Istanbul Convention, and calls for stronger legislation to combat violence against women.
