Seoul, Republic of Korea.  20 November 2006.  The Republic of Korea revised a law which increased the rights to victims of domestic violence.  The new law took effect on 1 November, and according to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, there are many benefits to the victims now.

This law provides higher funding for victims, including payment for treatment by the government and providing both extended shelters for the victims as well as preventative education programs.  Also, child victims are now able to transfer schools without the consent of the custodial abuser.  The transfer will be kept confidential by the schools in order to protect the victims.
