The Council of Europe’s Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, otherwise known as the Istanbul Convention, has presented and begun its calendar of events for the year 2013. The events cover a range of topics including the importance of ending violence against women, the work being done by the Council of Europe, the Istanbul Convention, and other agreements on ending violence against women, legal action that can be taken to protect women, and the importance of and current status of gender equality. The events take place in a number of locations throughout Europe and New York City. The calendar is updated regularly.
