According to the Nepalese Youth Foundation and Friends of Needy Children, Nepalese children, especially girls, are being sold as domestic workers. The Nepalese Youth Foundation estimates that over 20,000 children are suffering in such conditions. Both groups have a program called the Indentured Daughters Program for the last eight years; over 4000 girls have participated in the program and are being educated. In addition to explotative labor conditions, many children have reported sexual violence, neglect of education, and torture and other forms of physical abuse.
