In preparation for the Vienna Forum in February 2008, UN GIFT (Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking) prepared a report on human trafficking, based on three working papers. The papers each consider one of three important aspects of trafficking: vulnerability, impact, and action. The essential point behind each of these papers is that while trafficking affects the individual, it is also a national and international problem. The international community needs to foster better communication, discuss which strategies are most successful in combating trafficking, and create a systematic and consistent policy, and the Vienna Forum should be used in part to do so.
