In December 2006, the MP Prof. Marija Ausrine Pavilioniene initiated the creation of a working group to draft the concept and legal acts on the protection of victims against domestic violence. The working group consists of lawyers, civil servants and NGO activists. The main debates are on the concept of gender-based violence and on measures for protection.  Currently, the draft concept is still in the working stage. Lithuania National VAW Monitor Vilana Sotirovic-Pilinkaite is a member of the working group.
