On March 13, 2009, the Women’s Rights Center (WRC) organized a Working Group Meeting to finalize the Draft Law on Domestic Violence, as well as to discuss and sign the Letter of Intent prepared by WRC.

A day in advance, WRC sent copies of the Draft Law on DV, Justification Paper and Letter of Intent to all members of the Working Group (WG) to get familiarized with the copies before the meeting.

At the meeting WG members made their comments on the changes made by the WRC lawyer according to relevant comments and recommendations received from experts of different institutions. There were only slight changes in the Draft Law and Justification Paper.

WG members also discussed in detail the Letter of Intent prepared by WRC. The letter is to be signed by WG members and submitted as an accompanied document to relevant institution. A brief summary of activities undertaken by WRC to initiate the project of developing RA Draft Law on Domestic Violence as well as phases of its development are mentioned in the letter. Changes recommended by WG members were taken into consideration.

At the end of the meeting the Letter of Intent was revised correspondingly, approved, and signed by WG members.
