UN Task Force Launches Pilot Project on Violence against Women 7/24/2008 10:39 AMA UN task force, mandated following the Secretary-General’s in-depth report on Violence against Women, has launched an initiative to set up programs on violence against women in 10 pilot countries. These programs will be multi-lateral, joining the work of civil societies, governments, UN agencies, and donors. The countries chosen as pilots for the project include Burkina Faso, Chile, Fiji, Jamaica, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Paraguay, Philippines, Rwanda, and Yemen. Programs are expected to be established in these countries by 2010.
