This report has general information that includes statistics on women as well as separate sections on the status of women and trafficking.

Towards a People’s Partnership in the ENP: Ukraine, Women’s Perspectives Ukraine, February 2009. (PDF, 26 pages).
This report looks at the relationship between Ukraine and the west and the steps Ukraine has taken towards complying with European Union standards, including in the realm of women’s rights.

Consideration of reports submitted by States parties under article 18 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women: Ukraine, Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, 19 December 2008.
This report reviews information submitted to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women from the previous year and analyzes current statistics on women in Ukraine and the latest legislative efforts relating to violence against women.   

Sarah D. Phillips, Women’s Social Activism in the New Ukraine: Development and the Politics of Differentiation, Indiana University Press, 4 June 2008.
This book follows eleven social activists and their projects in women’s rights during the years after Ukrainian independence and analyzes the new social roles that have emerged in civil society and how they have affected Ukrainian women overall.

Universal Periodic Review of Ukraine, Human Rights Watch’s Submission to the Human Rights Council, 4 May 2008.
This report summarizes the most pressing human rights issues in Ukraine, including a section on discrimination against women in employment in employment.

Alternative Report on the Implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women in Ukraine, Women’s Consortium of Ukraine,  2008.  (PDF, 51 pages).
This report summarizes the most pressing gender-related human rights issues in Ukraine, including a section on discrimination against women in employment in employment

Human Rights in Ukraine 2008 Report, Amnesty International, 2008.  
This short report summarizes human rights abuses occurring in Ukraine, including a paragraph on violence against women.  The site links to numerous other short articles by Amnesty International on violence and discrimination against women in Ukraine.

Human Rights in Ukraine – 2007: Humans Rights Organisations Report, Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, 2008. (PDF, 256 pages).
This report, created cooperatively by dozens of Ukrainian non-profit organizations, gives an overview of current human rights issues in Ukraine and includes a chapter on domestic violence and a chapter on human trafficking.

Human Rights in the OSCE Region: Europe, Central Asia and North America, Report 2007 (Events of 2006), International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights, 27 March 2007.
This report discusses the general human rights situation of year, including a section specifically on Ukraine, pages 192-196.

Oksana Kisselyova and Iryna Trokhym, EU Gender Watch: A Gender Analysis of EU Development Instruments and Policies In Ukraine, The Network of East-West Women, 2007. (PDF, 39 pages).
This report looks at the efforts being done within Ukraine and by European government and non-profit organizations to improve the situation for women in Ukraine and makes recommendations on how E.U. funding can be most beneficial in the future.

Combating Domestic Violence: Ukrainian and International Experience, West Ukrainian Centre “Women’s Perspectives,” The European Commission and The Heinrich Böll Foundation, Publishing House of Lviv Polytechnic National University, 2007. (PDF, 112 pages).
This study analyzes the scope of the problem of domestic violence in Ukraine and looks at strategies that have been utilized in other countries to combat it and how they could be used within Ukraine.

Human Rights in the OSCE Region: Europe, Central Asia and North America, Report 2006 (Events of 2005), International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights, 8 June 2006.
This report discusses the general human rights situation of year, including a section specifically on Ukraine, pages 454-456.

Trafficking in Ukraine: An Assessment of Current Responses, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, April 2005. (PDF, 212 pages). 
This report looks extensively at Ukraine’s efforts to combat human trafficking, looking at statistics and current programs being implemented by the Ukrainian national government, law enforcement agencies, and non-profit organizations.

Legislation in the Member States of the Council of Europe in the Field of Violence Against Women, prepared in part by Jill Radford, Council of Europe Steering Committee for Equality Between Men and Women, March 2004, (Doc. EG 2004 2).
This report details national legislation dealing with violence against women in 38 of the 45 Council of Europe member states. In 1995, the Council asked member states to complete a questionnaire on relevant legislation, which was followed by compilation into a survey of the varying legislation. The report consists of two volumes, ending with a list of good practices and effective legislation prohibiting violence against women. Pages 171-175 in Volume II contain information about Ukraine.

Women's Work: Discrimination Against Women in the Ukrainian Labor Force, Human Rights Watch, August 2003. (PDF, 52 pages). (In Ukrainian).
This report examines discrimination against Ukrainian women in job recruitment in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv. The report looks at the effect of gender-specific job advertising, discrimination against women during interviews, promotions and salary raises, and the prevalence of sexual harassment. 

Radhika Coomaraswamy, Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences, Integration of the Human Rights of Women and the Gender Perspective - Violence Against Women, Addendum 1United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, 27 Feb. 2003. (PDF, 435 pages). 
This report has information regarding sexual harassment, rape, prostitution, trafficking and domestic violence against women in Ukraine. Specific information on Ukraine can be found on page 388-392.

Human Traffic, Human Rights: Redefining Victim Protection, Anti-Slavery International, 2002. (PDF, 12 pages).
This report describes mechanisms for assisting victims of trafficking, as well as obstacles to successful prosecutions in ten countries, including Ukraine.

Nationwide Survey: “Trafficking Women as a Social Problem in Ukrainian Society:” Summary of Findings, Social Monitoring Center, Ukrainian Institute of Social Studies, 2001. (PDF, 11 pages).
This is a summary of the findings of a survey conducted throughout Ukraine of young women and girls on their knowledge and attitudes towards women and employment, trafficking, and violence against women.

Trafficking in Women: Moldova and Ukraine, The Advocates for Human Rights, December 2000. (PDF, 61 pages).
This report documents the trafficking of women for the commercial sex industry as a human rights violation in both Moldova and Ukraine. The report analyzes the mechanisms of trafficking in both countries and the NGO and governmental response to the problem, including information on Moldovan and Ukrainian law. The report also addresses the obligations of the Moldovan and Ukrainian government under international law.

Domestic Violence in Ukraine, The Advocates for Human Rights, December 2000. (PDF, 51 pages).
This report documents domestic violence as a human rights violation in Ukraine. The report analyzes the Ukrainian legal system, including criminal law and forensic regulations, family law, housing law, and draft legislation on domestic violence. The report includes information on the police response to domestic violence and gives an overview of the services that are available to Ukrainian women. The report also addresses Ukraine's obligations under international law

Women 2000 - An Investigation into the Status of Women's Rights in Central and South-Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States, International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights, 5 November 2000. (PDF, 20 pages).
This section of the report on Ukraine discusses domestic violence, sexual abuse of women, and sexual exploitation of women from a legal point of view, pointing out current legislation and actions by government organizations.

A Form of Slavery: Trafficking in Women in OSCE States, International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights, 19 June 2000 (PDF, 91 pages).
This report is based on information gathered in the region through questionnaires and contains data on such issues as existing legislation, government policies, NGO initiatives, existing victim support services, and research for 29 countries, including Ukraine.
