Hungary’s reporting schedule is determined by which treaties it ratified. The main treaties concerning the Hungarian State in the field of violence against women are as follows:

Enacted by law-decree 8 of 1976 National reports are to be submitted every 4 years
The Fifth Periodic Report is due 1 April 2007
Name of treaty: International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (1966)
Enacted by law-decree 9 of 1976
National reports are to be submitted every 5 years
The Third and Fourth Periodic Reports were due on 30 June 1994 and 30 June 1999 and are overdue
The Fifth Periodic Report was due on 30 June 2004
Name of treaty: Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) (1979)
Enacted by law-decree 10 of 1982
National reports are due every 4 years
The CEDAW Committee reviewed Hungary’s joint fourth and fifth report in its Exceptional Session in August 2002
Name of treaty: Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948)
Name of treaty: Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (1999) Enacted by Act LX of 2001
Name of treaty: Convention on the Rights of the Child (1990)
Enacted by Act LXIV of 1991
Reports are due in every 5 years
The Second and Third Periodic Reports were due on 5 November 1998 and 5 November 2003 and both reports are overdue
