PETRA is a nongovernmental network promoting women's human rights and is active in Croatia through 9 organizations, and internationally active in the field of combating women and child trafficking, with a special emphasis on sexual exploitation. PETRA is a unique network in Croatia, and it cooperates with other networks of this type in Croatia, with other nongovernmental organizations, international and national organizations and institutions that work with the same mission as PETRA. PETRA generates public attention to the issues of women and child trafficking with a special emphasis on sexual exploitation, which includes prostitution, pornography, sex tourism, the purchase of brides and public displays of women and men in an offensive and degrading way regarding their sexual and gender orientation. PETRA works within the following areas of the National Plan of the Republic of Croatia for Combating Trafficking: support and protection of victims, prevention, education, as well as the legal framework.
