New UN Campaign Calls on Men to End Violence Against Women

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced a new global initiative to end violence against women. “I call on men around the world to lead by example; to make clear that violence against women is an act perpetrated by a coward, and that speaking up against it is a badge of honor.” The “UNITE to End Violence Against Women” campaign will extend through 2015, and targets men in government, sports, business, religion, and the arts.
