New UNHCR Handbook for Protection of Women and Girls

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has recently released a handbook about violence and state’s obligations to protect women against these abuses, especially relating to refugees and immigrants. The UNHCR Handbook for the Protection of Women and Girls highlights promoting gender equality using a community- and rights-based approach in order to empower women. Forms of violence include domestic violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and trafficking.
