- The Committee welcomed Slovakia's ratification of several human rights instruments, as well as the appointment of a Deputy Prime Minister on Human Rights, National Minorities and Regional Development. The Committee expressed concern, however, over the discriminatory treatment and situation of the Roma, especially in regard to employment, health and settlement. The Committee recommended that the Slovakian government review legislation and take all measures to address these concerns.
