The government of Denmark has published a comprehensive report on the amount and character of physical and sexual violence against women occurring in that country. The report is structured according to the seven E.U. indicators of violence against women, which include victim and perpetrator profiles, current initiatives to support victims, measures addressing male perpetrators, the training of professionals, the state's general measures to prevent violence against women, and evaluation of the national action plan. The new report provides an update on data first collected between 2000 and 2003, and it shows that while partner violence had decreased significantly by 2006, the overall prevalence of violence against women had increased, with the risk of violence in the workplace rising in particular.
