The Gender Equality Office of the Government of Montenegro, the OSCE Mission in Montenegro and IEC Ulcinj organised the first training on gender equality for local self-government.

The seminar was held on 19-20 October 2007 in Bijelo Polje. Participants at the seminar were the local councilors and employers in the local administration of Bijelo Polje. The aim of the seminar was to introduce the concept of gender equality and the legal framework for achievement of gender equality, as well.

This seminar is the first in the series of seminars which will be held for the representatives of local self-government. Other seminars are planned to be organised in Niksic, Kotor, Bar and Herceg Novi.
