This section provides a collection of materials that may be useful to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) engaged in work on the issue of domestic violence. These materials are organized in the following manner:
· General Resources on Domestic Violence includes reports that discuss the issue of domestic violence broadly, without focusing on a particular region or topic.
· Reports by Institution includes reports on domestic violence that are available from the United Nations, in particular, from the Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women. Research and reports on domestic violence are also available from the Council of Europe, the European Union, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
· Reports by Topic includes resources on the issues addressed in Domestic Violence: Explore the Issue.
· Further On-Line Resources includes links that provide additional information about domestic violence and are excellent research gateways.
For a discussion of international law on domestic violence, see Domestic Violence: Law and Policy. Further information about the United Nations system and the European human rights system is also available in the International Law section of this site.
This collection is not an exhaustive list of materials available on the web or elsewhere, nor are reports on the problem of domestic violence in specific countries included here. Please see the country pages for research and reports on domestic violence in specific countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and in the former Soviet Union (FSU).
