Each Country Page contains the following sections:

Main Page:  The main page provides a discussion of the prevalence of different forms of violence against women, as well as an overview of domestic legislation and implementation of such legislation concerning violence against women. This page then leads to additional pages with information on most or all of the following topics.

National Plans:  The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action requires states to create national plans that detail the specific actions they will take to implement the provisions of the Platform for Action. This page links to and briefly discusses the national plan created by the country in question.  This page also provides government responses to a Questionnaire sent out by the UN Division for the Advancement of Women regarding National Plans.

Human Rights Reports:  This page lists and links to country-specific human rights reports that pertain to women's human rights.

Treaties in Force:  This page lists and links to the human rights treaties that the country in question has ratified, as well as any reservations, understandings or declarations the country has entered with regard to those treaties.

UN Reporting Schedules:  The six core human rights treaties create committees designed to monitor State implementation of the treaties and require governments to report periodically to those committees on the extent of their compliance. The treaty-monitoring body generally comments on the report submitted. This page lists the dates on which the country in question was and is due to submit periodic reports and the dates on which reports were submitted. In addition, this page links to those country reports that are available online, as well as any comments or reports by the committee that reviewed the country's report. More information about the reporting process is available in other sections of this site.

European Union Compliance:  For those countries that are or hope to become involved in the European Union accession process, this section contains a page discussing any national plans the country has developed for complying with EU directives and laws concerning violence against women, and any other relevant information.

Legislative Trends and New Developments:  Where such information is available, this page provides a brief discussion of upcoming legislative initiatives or laws that will be or have been introduced.
