• The Committee welcomed recent legislative reforms, including human rights protections in the Constitution, the recognition of the supremacy of international treaties and the adoption of a Charter on Fundamental Rights and Freedoms. The Committee expressed concern, however, over allegations of the ill-treatment of Roma, detainees and human rights defenders. The Committee made several recommendations on addressing these concerns through legislative and procedural reform, trainings, and other measures.
