The Governor of Massachusetts has announced a “public health emergency” in his state as a result of violence against women.  So far, there have been 19 domestic violence homicides and 5 domestic violence related suicides in the state since the beginning of 2008.  Experts are being asked to analyze the past three years of data and to strengthen the training for police officers about sex crimes and domestic violence.
