Russian Duma Ratifies UN Convention on Transnational Organized Crime and Two Protocols

Open Women Online reports that the Russian State Duma ratified the UN Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime and two Protocols: Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, Supplementing the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime and Protocol Against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air, Supplementing the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Crime. The Convention was ratified unanimously by 417 deputies. There is a Russian version of the Open Women Online report available.
